MY
Story
Why Project Purpose?
I grew up in a household where self-improvement seminars constantly played in the background. When I was eleven, my father unexpectedly took a job in Belgium and my family of 10 moved across the world.
There I was, in a completely new environment. I didn't speak the language. I didn't have any friends. And, I was at the beginning of my tween awkwardnness.
It took a toll. I struggled with low self-esteem, feeling purposeless, poor mental health. I was letting my circumstances dictate my thoughts, actions, and results.
I'll never forget that report card... The worst I had ever gotten. It was at that moment that I realized that I had a choice: either I was going to crumble or change.
I made a decision to go after my potential because I felt that I was capable of so much more. I began analyzed the self-improvement principles I grew up hearing. I explored human psychology. I researched the differences betwen successful people and the rest. I became obsessed with closing the gap between who I was, and who I wanted to be.
The result? I was able to graduate valedictorian with the highest honors in the history of my high school... where classes were either in French or Dutch. I was able to become an accomplished musician and athlete. And was able to become the entrepreneur I dreamed of being, starting a business that eventually sustained my family through COVID.
It was not me, it was these principles at work. It wasn't magic, it was mindset. I started sharing the resources and tactics I used to achieve my goals, and realized that:
1) self-improvement is scary because it's been overly-complicated
2) we're told to dream big, but never shown how to achieve our dreams.
That's why I started Project Purpose. Because I believe that everyone should have the support & resources to unlock their potential and live a life that they have dreamed, defined, and designed.
58 countries, hundreds of lives improved, and thousands of goals achieved. This is true social impact.
